Â鶹ÊÓƵ

From Â鶹ÊÓƵ to the Courtroom

Saturday 08 Nov

Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumna Christina Strano (Class of 2014) has achieved an incredible milestone in her professional journey, recently being admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland. She has started her next chapter as a Solicitor with Shine Lawyers, working in the area of institutional abuse law. After completing her studies at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, she took some time to explore the workforce before beginning her legal career journey. Working across law firms in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, she gained valuable experience and insight into the profession. Her determination and passion for justice led her to complete a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland, graduating in 2025 before her formal admission to the Supreme Court.

Reflecting on her time at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, she shared how the College shaped both her values and her approach to life:

“The main takeaway that influenced my life from Â鶹ÊÓƵ was to put good out into the world and to do what’s right, even when the odds are stacked against you. I had many wonderful mentors and teachers who helped me push through difficult times. I want to give back by helping others, just as they helped me.â€

During her years at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, she was an active participant in The Arts, with countless memories of school musicals, plays and drama classes under the guidance of Mrs Merretz.

She encourages current students to make the most of every opportunity that comes their way:

“Enjoy your time at school and take every opportunity you can. The things you learn at Â鶹ÊÓƵ go beyond the classroom, they prepare you for life.â€

Adding to her story, she shared that she has since married fellow Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumnus Leigh Brettschneider (Class of 2013), which is another special connection to the College community that continues to thrive.

Her story is a wonderful reminder of the lasting influence of a Â鶹ÊÓƵ education.
